🌳 Stop Killing Your Trees with Mulch Volcanoes 🌳

You’ve probably seen it everywhere — big piles of mulch mounded up against tree trunks.

It might be easier to keep adding mulch year over year… but it’s actually one of the fastest ways to damage or kill a tree.

đźš« Why mulch mounds are bad:

• Traps moisture against the trunk → causes rot

• Invites insects and disease

• Suffocates roots

• Leads to weak, unstable trees

✅ The right way (the “donut,” not the volcano):

• Keep mulch 2–4 inches deep

• Pull mulch away from the trunk (leave a 6 inch gap!)

• Spread it wide in a ring, not tall in a pile

• Let the root flare breathe

🌱 Healthy trees = longer life, better growth, and fewer problems down the road.

If your trees look like little mulch volcanoes, don’t worry — it’s an easy fix and makes a huge difference.
